Tarangire National Park covers approximately 2,850, making it Tanzania's sixth largest national park. Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. It is named after the Tarangire River, the main water source for animals during the dry season, and is a key part of Tanzania's northern safari circuit. The park'sdiverse habitats include savannah, woodlands, and swamps, and during the dry season, it boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the country.

Tarangire National Park is famed for its ancient baobab trees, some over 1,000 years old, which punctuated the landscape and provide critical water storage and creates home for birds and insects. The Tarangire river serving as the only permanent water source during the dry season, which supports the myriad of resident and migratory mammals and over 550 bird species.
